Safety in the Digital Age: a new FonCSI book, published by Springer

In early September, Springer published a new, open access Foncsi book. Entitled Safety in the Digital Age, this collection of a dozen scientific articles presents the results of the 2021 NeTWork seminar.

Foncsi has supported the NeTWork for many years, and each year the Foundation organizes a forward-look international seminar. The discussions that take place during these seminars lead to the publication of a Foncsi book by Springer, in their SpringerBriefs in Safety Management series.

Safety in the Digital Age is therefore the fruit of the 2021 NeTWork seminar on the theme of ‘Safety in a digital age: old and new problems’, in partnership with Jean-Christophe Le Coze (Ineris, France) and Stian Antonsen (Sintef, Norway).

What’s in it?

Algorithms, machine learning, big data, blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) are the watchwords of today’s transformation of companies.
In what ways will high-risk systems be affected by these developments? What are the impacts on their safety, activities, organization, management and regulations?
What are the socio-technological challenges linked to the digital revolution in healthcare, transport, energy production and distribution, and manufacturing?
